internship day 3

Today I spent another day at the campaign office. This time, along with other interns, we posted campaign posters along the windows of local stores. A long walk, but worth the exercise. There were some moments where I experienced a language barrier-- a majority of the people around the neighborhood spoke Chinese. Luckily, a few of the interns spoke it fluently and helped out.

Tonight's ballgame starting pitchers: Kuroda vs. Darvish. Pumped to see this.

update- 10:51 pm- Yankees got crushed by Darvish's performance, getting 10 strikeouts. two outs away from a complete game. C'mon, Yanks, y'all could do better!

first day at internship

Today was my first internship day at the campaign office. I spent the day basically making a bunch of phone calls to local residents. Phone canvassing, I think, is the proper term. Most of them just basically hung up, or weren't home. The people these days.

internship found

After numerous days of confusion and panic, I finally got myself an internship at a campaign office. It takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes to get there by train. A nice place to work overall, I guess.

find an internship or else!

Still haven't gotten an internship yet and I must get one by Monday or else I'm going to have to take regular classes in school with underclassmen (not that underclassmen are any bad). And I don't want that happening. Though I do have the potential of supporting an assemblywoman; I am visiting the office tomorrow.

Y'know, I went to the office today, actually, only to find out that it was the wrong office. All that money I spent for transportation! >_< So I am going to the right office tomorrow (well, hopefully it's the right one).

last day of high school academic classes

Another baseball game today, and we lost; however, it was the best we played compared to past games. We had some sweet strikeouts, and nice hitting that went along. I even walked!

This was possibly my last game. It is required for seniors to enroll in a 6-week internship starting Monday until June 1. And making it to practice and games while doing my internship might be a little hard for me.

Speaking of which, today was technically my last day taking academic classes in high school. It has been a blast, and I felt like I was a freshman just yesterday. Time really does fly.

Angels vs. Yankees

Went to go see some real baseball yesterday, although the Yanks lost against the Angels. 7-1. Opening week!

school baseball game 3

We lost another baseball game today 11-3 or something. Don't ask.

school baseball game number 2

We lost our second baseball game today, 24-10 or whatever. It seems more like a football score than a baseball score. The point is we lost, badly. We got a few hits, strikeouts, and some nice defensive plays, but overall, as a team, we need to work on our game a bit more, especially hustling to balls that pass by us.

What we did do well, though, I gotta admit, is the fact that we brought an exceeding amount of sunflower seeds. BBQ, Ranch, Hot Jalapeno or something, and Nacho Cheese. Didn't see any original though.

Here is my box score-- 1-2.

Senior Skip Day problems, kinda: The ludicrous day has come

Senior Skip Day apparently is happening, but like some of you guys thought, we have no plans for the day. I contacted some teachers and the office/administration about it and told me that it counted as an absence... an unexcused absence. So much for my No-Absence since 7th Grade. Personally, I don't count this as an absence for me though. It is just based on this damn crap about skipping. And you know what I really hate about this? The fact that our grade has absolutely NO plans for the day. Sure, maybe I could've thought up with some plans, but still. The point is we have nothing in our agenda, and I strongly feel that just staying home and being lazy would not be worth skipping school. Period.

This grade is unorganized. Our senior prank-- to take down all of the clocks in the floor -- apparently already has been executed, when nobody but a few people in our grade knew about it.

What a joke this is. Now I don't give a crap about going to school today.

Senior Skip Day problems, kinda

It is a widely known tradition among high schools seniors to take a day off from school in the springtime just for the hell of it (Seniors from the past, you know what I mean).

And that's happening... tomorrow, apparently.

But our entire grade has not planned out anything for the day... yet.

I think, in general terms, Senior Skip Day should be spent with the entire grade.  Whether it'd be visiting a museum or having a picnic, I think it is best that we spend the day doing something or going somewhere.

What do you guys think of this whole senior skip day thing? Do you think it's a good idea in general?

school baseball opening game

School's first baseball game today. Lost 19-8 or something. We need work on so much mechanics, namely pitching. Umps were even bored, and called outs on blatantly safe plays.

I started, got 1-2, SB.

miserable, yes, but we will rev up our game and bring ourselves to the championships.

got home around 8, and sleepy and tired.

gnight.

Cherry Garcia

Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia です。

Yo, ain't Ben and Jerry's the best?!! Especially this, my favorite flavor, Cherry Garcia, which I think I already posted a while back. I can't get enough of it. Every bite is unreal. So good.

Sports Finals

KENTUCKYvs。KANSAS。

A famous high school baseball tournament (Senbatsu) is going on right now in Japan. Similar to March Madness in NCAA, this is an event where schools from all over the nation face off each other and fight to be champions. The schools qualified in the tournament were determined from previous heat matches in the fall. All of the matches are held at Koshien Stadium, home of the Hanshin Tigers. And the final match up is today in Japan. Osaka Touin vs. Kosei Gakuin.

Now, aside from all the Senbatsu talk, our baseball team is literally not going in the right direction, I gotta say. We haven't practiced fielding and batting drills at all that much, and our first game is in two days. We just received our uniforms today. Let's see where we can go with this.

Coincidentally, tonight, in the U.S, is the NCAA finals. Kentucky vs. Kansas. I don't really watch all that much college basketball, but I am somewhat curious which team'd win. I've heard lots about Kentucky.
