LAST day at office

Thurs 8/30-
It was my last day at the office that I have been working at since late April. It has been a real pleasure working at the office; countless number of memories to name, bits and pieces of them jumping around in my mind. I'll always remember my 1pm to 6pm work shift, supervisors complaining that I eat lunch almost everyday at the office not working, taping posters on neighborhood store windows, knocking on residents' doors to remind them about the assemblywoman I support for, some of which I could not complete until 9 pm, phone-banking, and those days where we volunteers just chilled out and played catch with a freaking hacky sack.

Furthermore (LOL it seems like I'm writing an essay... ahh those days), I will miss those days where I would sip that bubble tea or munch down that Lo Mein while asking passersby whether they want to register to vote. I would oftentimes come back with very few registrations. Also, I will remember the time I got caught slacking off by one of the supervisors by taking a picture of him. Got in some trouble, holy crap.

I'd like to thank my teacher for finding out about the campaign-- without her finding out, all of this would've never happened.

But this does not mean goodbye forever. Surely I will stop by whenever I can while I am in college, and keep in touch with my volunteer friends. Because, again, the more close people are to us, the more we cannot stand their disappearance from us.
haha.
_____

After I hung out with mah friends, basically had dinner. Mapo tofu and Kung Fu Tea. Twasookay.

The clock was reaching the evening hours. Me and her. We were sitting in a bench at the park, the sky was already dark as the crickets were crying peacefully somewhere deep inside the trees. Next to us was a tall fence, separating the benches and the asphalt courts. A number of kids were on the courts, cruising around with their Razor scooters, and playing frisbee. On the far side locals were playing one on one, and looping around the court was a middle aged man lightly jogging. All of the people here seemed to not mind the darkness the slightest bit. Elderly women, homeless, among other people were sitting by the benches. Above us, the full, spherical white moon shone the entire nighttime sky.

She grabbed a pack, pursed the cigarette between her lips, and slowly lit it with a lighter. All motions were deliberate, doing her best to not waste a single motion. She gave a few puffs, and exhaled out the smoke. With my arm around her, I was staring at the late park scenery, thinking about college and where it would bring me. College. Such a pain to start a new lifestyle all on your own, yet still exciting in some ways.

The Child Dream

A few weeks ago I had a nightmarish dream that went like this--

I first see two black steam engine trains colliding against each other at a bird's eye view. Why bird's eye view, I had no idea.

Then we transition into a dark alley at night.

An unknown child, about 4 or 5, gets beat up by an unidentified man in a dark alley. The child is bleeding everywhere yet he seems fine. He rips off his bloody clothes and proceeds walking as if nothing happened to him.

----

A few days ago that same child came back into my dream. Same scenario. He was getting beat up by that man.

Scared, I woke up.

Just got home. My peeps and I hung out again.
As usual, we played by the ear. Literally had no plans whatsoever, for the whole entire day. Our plan we made up the night before-- meetup at 2 pm. That was all.

Ate lunch at Chipotle. One of my freakin friends literally poured a load of Tabasco sauce on my burrito bowl out of now where. If it weren't for that crap, I would've finished it all. Yo damn him. But since I was still a bit hungry, I ate some of it, and chugged down lemonade once the flavor started to really kick in.

Then nighttime approached, ate five napkin.

After, sat down on the steps on a rather humid night and chilled. She and I now. Skateboarders were practicing their tricks while passersby aimlessly wandered around in various walking speeds. Shutters of certain stores were closed, cars swishing by our view. At a distance, the crescent moon silently sat on the clear, open, dark sky, as if lost and lonely. The faint glow of the lampposts reflected the shadow of our faces. Among us were others plopped on the steps, gazing at the ever fascinating late night scene.

Sunday afternoon strolllll

I went to bed at 6 am.. haven't been to sleep that late in months. During that time, I opened my blinds and the sky was slowly getting brighter. It wasn't dark.

It was a fine, Sunday. Because I slept beyond late, I actually overslept and woke up in the afternoon, precisely 1:30. In other words, I had no morning. My alarm clock was a text message from the girl whom I was going to meet up with today. I checked the time, and it was, undoubtedly, past noon. I got up, fixed myself some cereal and poured some oj and milk as I had a mild headache. While eating, I put on Norah Jones on the speaker system while my mind was sinking down into space. Couldn't really focus on anything for a while. Shortly, a message came on my phone again, as it read that the girl was already near our meetup spot that we kind of agreed on late yesterday. Not really being so attentive of the time, I resumed listening to Jones while munching on a banana. But as I casually looked at the screen again, I realized that where she was at was way closer than I had expected. She's going to get there way faster than I am, I thought. Thus I hurriedly went on to change. I picked out my outfit, put on right accessories, and headed out. We had no fixed time-- we met whenever, but I needed to make sure that we would roughly arrive at the same time.

As soon as I exited my apartment, though, she said that she was already at the location. Surprised, I dashed to the station to catch the train. Fuq.

Eventually was close to an hour late. Pissed her off a bit. Apologized. Owe her bigtime.

...

Such a slow person I am. Learned my freaking lesson.

We winged the day again. Walked around the city; unexpectedly kind of shopped. Ate some delicious Korean food. And so it went.

5 am

It's 5AM. omg... the hushed AM hours.

Been up late recently... for like, the past few weeks or so. Need to stop this habit as soon as possibleee.

Chillin'

For like the gazillionth time in a row, my homies and I chilled. A bird freaking pooped on my shirt at one point which really sucked. Screw that bird. But again, some say that it brings good luck. Who knowss.

Since a lot of them didn't really know their way around the area, we spent some hours just waiting for them to arrive. Thus what did we do the whole day? Chilled, and watched Hope Springs, which was kind of kinky by the way.

Don't even try to spot the stain...

野球デート

今日は何も野球の事をしらないこの人と一緒に試合を見に行きました。両方のチームがあんまりしらない私たち。。。僕はヤンキースだからさ。全体的に楽しかったで~(^^)

Tonight I went to the Mets Gameeee with mahh goood friend. She legit didn't know that much about baseball so I had to explain to her the rules and terms, including home run. So because she is not an avid baseball fan, and because I am a Yankees fan, we both did not really watch the game. Fun time we had! :)

It has been a real long while since I've posted things here. But give me some time... it's the lazy summer. Almost each and every day I come home sweaty as hell, my body sticky with sweat.. Kinda disgusting when you think about it, but it's true... I tend to take cold showers to refresh myself.

It is the absolute worst when you get a farmer's tan. I mean, sure, I could probably fix it by going to the beach for a full week or so, but still. It's mad embarrassing to show it off at first. I learned my lesson-- to not wear only t-shirts on scorching hot days.

I can't believe that college is starting very soon; less than a month away and i'm off to a new world. I will undoubtedly have significant difficulties in getting used to a new style of living.. I will have to be independent, responsible, and prompt. I will have to get used to the dorm setting and all. What has been always familiar to me will soon completely change-- sharing rooms instead of having one myself, mom's cooking, my good ol comfy bed, my desk, my window view, and the endless like. I know that I will be homesick for the first few weeks, months perhaps, but being independent is something that has got to happen eventually for everybody.  I can't stay home forever. Surely I will definitely miss my family and close friends. Nowadays, thus, I am spending my times with them before we all go our separate ways. Because, the more people are familiar to us, the more we cannot stand their disappearance from us.

That... that's what I thought when I was on the evening train en route back home. As the wheels monotonously clacked against the tracks, I was staring at the passing scenery across from me. Endless rooftops of houses with its antennas and satellite dishes swished across my view as the sky was set in a orange-red color... a beautiful scenery of a sunset.
