The Path

I got out of my bed and walked to the living room with my eyes barely open. I immediately lay on the couch, and tried to get some more sleep. But I knew that my mom would yell at me any second if I continued to lay in this position, so I forced myself upright and tried to get some sleep in this position. For all I knew, I wasn't totally sleeping, since I wasn't laying down. I felt like I was on airplane with nothing to do, but sleep while sitting in a totally worn-down economy class cabin seat... except it was a couch. I heard my mom humming a tune that I didn't really know, and came over to place two waffles and some cereal on the coffee table. She told me to eat quickly, since I had a test to take at school. I stared at the food, and then looked directly in front of my periphery. The TV was on, and there was the news. There were so many intense headlines lately, besides the Royal Wedding, which isn't really exciting. A serial killer on the loose, significant number of tornadoes in the south, the rising gas prices, and Libya's anarchy. The news anchors were different. They didn't look professional; didn't sound professional. For all I knew, it was the weekend. Everything felt different compared to the weekdays. More calm, more quiet, more mellow.

I put on my most comfortable clothes, applied deodorant, wore my accessories, grabbed my bag, put on gel, and headed out. As soon as I went outside, the silence hushed into my ears, like you're alone in a closet. All I could hear were the chirping birds hiding atop the trees, winding their spring. Cars occasionally cruised by the road, amidst the closed stores and restaurants. Most of the people walked slower than usual; it was no usual New Yorker walk. They were walking their dogs, sitting on benches, and the like. I continued to walk to school in the peaceful little neighborhood.

I arrived at school and prepared to take the test. Classmates looked just as tired as I was, barely able to speak to one other. They sat like deep-sea water creatures, waiting for their prey. A girl who was sitting next to me told me that she saw me walking in the park with my mom several weeks ago without saying hi.
"I just went right by you." I didn't know what to say. But not replying was awkward so I forced myself to reply.
"Wow, that's weird. I didn't even notice. Let's just say that next time we see each other, we say hi." I knew this was a forced way of saying this, and she knew, but it was a must.
"Will you promise me, Sean, that you will most definitely say hi to me when we see each other in the middle of the park again?"
"Yes, definitely."
We ended the conversation immediately as the test began about ten minutes later than its expected time.

The test ended four hours later. I put my pencils and calculator in my bag as I started to head out of the school. Most friends were talking with each other, but I had no reason to. I headed outside and said bye to my friends as I left for home. Everything felt more alive now. Compared to the morning, everyone seemed to have woken up and decided to walk around for a little stroll. This time, attractive teenage girls were walking together like Sex and the City, couples were aimlessly walking and cuddling with each other, some people were walking their dogs, on their phone, drinking coffee, listening to their music, chilling. More cars passed by the street, the bustling cityscape felt alive. I headed home while listening to my music.

In the afternoon of the same day, my mom and I walked around the neighborhood. We walked along the sidewalk, and into the park. We coincidentally walked along the path where the girl told me where she saw me with my mom. I was expecting to see her right on this path, but it didn't seem so. But it was the same scenario; I was with my mom and was walking on this same path. Tourists were aimlessly walking, locals were chit-chatting with other locals, and teenagers lay down on the grass with their friends. The girl wasn't there.

Sick, sleepy, or pollen?

At this moment, I don't know if I'm either sick, too sleepy, or suffering from high pollen. It's probably the lack of sleep plus the pollen, because my eyes itch. I had nearly 4 hours of sleep yesterday, and throughout the whole day today, I felt extremely tiresome and totally not awake. My weekend is still not relaxing; I have to wake up early in the morning tomorrow for a test. blehidfkjlsdjfl

しょぼんアクション

Cat Mario or Syobon Action, is an online game, similar to the Super Mario Brothers layout. The only difference is that it EXTREMELY difficult. Mushrooms are considered to kill, flagpoles move whenever you try to jump to the top, and ceilings start to fall on you.

Point is, it's difficult. But Greg over here, was able to get through the first three levels (there are four in total). Here is one of his best moments.

Strawberries

Today in biology we extracted DNA from strawberries while our teacher played When I'm Sixty-four by the Beatles on the computer. The coolest thing ever. Coincidentally, the head of the school came to the classroom and he just turned 64 years old.

warm weather

The weather has become warmer and warmer. Yesterday was in the high 70's and today it's in the mid 80's.

I can sense summer coming!

A sentimental essay on the flaws of AKB48

In the spring of last year in Japan, I had an interest in the Japanese teen-idol group, AKB48. Although they had mediocre singing talent, their songs were just extremely catchy and it instantly made me a fan. Besides, 48 group of teen girls wearing flashy school uniforms and singing catchy love songs would inevitably catch most boys' attention, I would assume. Some of their hit songs such as Aitakatta, Oogoe Diamond, Seifuku ga Jama Wo Suru, RIVER, and Skirt Hirari are all great and uplifting. But as the months progress, they've been releasing too many new singles in such little time that it nearly devalues the purpose of AKB48, which is to--I would assume-- act cute and try to persuade fans to buy their songs. AKB48 should not constantly release new singles, but release occasional albums from a few months to a year. Because if the media decides to release more singles once a month or maybe a little more, then the fans would almost get bored of them and wouldn't favor the girls anymore.

Most of the songs that AKB48 releases all basically sound the same. I understand that lyric writers do have a hard time writing lyrics based on an idol group with 48 girls, but what's the point if they all sound the same. The girls aren't even great singers. They just yell throughout the whole entire song, without noticing how bad they sound. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not an AKB48 hater. I just thought that it would be better if they didn't release songs so frequently. Because the Kamikyoku Tachi album was good enough for me. And when I heard their latest single, it sounded exactly the same as one of their songs in the Kamikyoku Tachi album.

It's not only their frequent singles that constantly flourishes in the nation, but also themselves; they dominate the media. Turn on a TV in Japan and you'll find TV shows featuring AKB48. They are so overrated. "Why are they famous?" says a friend of mine. Moreover, AKB48 has subdivided some girls into mini groups such as French Kiss, and more groups to create a sub-unit for AKB48. It's too much, and it just annoys the hell out of me. Who'd want to listen to an idol group with 48 girls anyway? It sounds like it would be annoying, especially if they are not so great singers.

Now it makes sense that those KPOP groups such as KARA, SNSD, f(x), Brown Eyed Girls, and others are famous. It's because they're hot, dance well, and know how to sing. Aside from the fact that there are too many of these KPOP groups, it still makes sense why they are famous. AKB48, as far as I know, is JPOP, and have their own style. But it doesn't work, in my opinion. I'm not saying to be like these KPOP singers, but they have to do something about the choreography or change the way they sing.

AKB48 is only famous because many Japanese men think that they are cute. And cuteness is more popular in Japan, than is how good they sing. But because they've been releasing so many singles, member photobooks of them nude (why do that? They aren't even that hot!), and accessories, it just devalues their purpose. If they only released these stuff occasionally, I think it would be so much better and I would start to become a true fan again.

Using zero as a number in sports

For sports players, the number zero can both be of negative and positive value. One may suggest that this number represents nothing since it's ZERO, and we all know that zero means zero, and has no value.

But others might suggest that this number does value its invincibility. Take for instance, multiplying with zeros. No matter the number it is being multiplied by, zero always wins. No number can win against zero. 4x0=0, 14x0=0, 12341234x0=0, etc. So some players might consider this and use zero.

Also, zero might be considered as the beginning, since this number isn't big or small; it's simply just zero. Despite the meaning of the beginning--zero--players might use it.

Yankees Game

This was yesterday, but who cares? LOL.

Yankees GAME!! But it was the worst weather ever. Chilly, windy, 40 degrees with rain. But no rain delay. I was literally shivering throughout the entire game. The good news is that they won against the Texas Rangers, 2 to 5.

I ate another Yankees philly cheese steak. The first one since 7 months. DELICIOUS.

Much loved history teacher announces her leave

Saddening and shocking news have been reminded to us during history class this morning. Our much loved teacher reminded us that she will not be returning to the school next year, because she was deemed the head of the history department in another school. Girls started to burst into tears, as the teacher gave us a memorable speech. Here's a paraphrase of what she stated.

"There are challenges ahead, and I know all of you will have your ups and downs. But what's important is that you keep moving forward. And all of you, I know, are wonderful students and I wanted to see you guys graduate. But I'm doing what's best, and it's a time where I need to move on."

She bursts into tears as she becomes speechless.

End of class.

Although one may argue that she can be the most hardest, painful, and ridiculous teachers who assigns so much readings, essays, and so much other work, she is still considered to be one of the most greatest preparatory instructors in the history of this school.
History isn't the only subject that she teaches the class; rather, she goes over every little grammar, formatting, and expository-writing effectively. This gives the student to have the ability to understand history and gradually master the english language all in one subject.
Not only is she the greatest history instructor, but the greatest instructor for all departments.

sundays

School tomorrow is not great news. I will be overflown with so much work. But it will go by.

Yesterday, this news stand showed this message:

This proves that America is supporting Japan to its fullest. YEA!

My dad and I had dinner today at a Japanese restaurant. My dad is friends with the barmaid and a customer who comes to the restaurant almost everyday to just have conversations with asian women. I ate 16 tekka rolls, 8 natto rolls, ika gesso, sashimi, and yaki onigiri. It was okay. I'd come again.

A note on rhetoric

Writing rhetoric can be a difficult, challenging, and nerve-racking skill that suggests to be essential to today's writing agenda. Many politicians and debaters have achieved this skill and implemented this language in their speeches and documents. The mastery of rhetoric means to convince the reader, audience, or whomever it applies, to side with your opinion.

This same skill applies to all high school and college students in writing their papers such as essays, reflections, and other expository-based assignments. Most teachers stress the significance of this language, and are keen to slowly banish poor writing.

Now rhetoric does not only apply to writing. It also applies to our daily lives, somewhat and might even position us in an advantageous and/or a disadvantageous situation. Furthermore, 'Force' or 'goad' or even 'asking her out' are possible synonyms for rhetoric. Indeed, trying to ask an attractive female out for a date CAN in fact involve a mild hint of rhetoric. How would you ask a woman out if you had no motivation to convince her to go out with you? Short story short. She wouldn't go out with you. Using that mild hint of rhetoric can solve the problem, along with these essential questions to keep in your mind that you are to answer: Why do you want to go out with her? Why would she be happy to go out with you and not some other guy? What makes you that special person? Would you be able to answer these questions, you are ready to ask her out (Of course, this does not apply to all!)

Murakami's A Wild Sheep Chase

I've recently just finished reading A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami. I enjoyed it, but not as much as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. Wild Sheep, in a good way, flows much quicker and seems really brief, whereas Wind-Up Bird goes much slower. Both have similar themes, and occurrences, but the plot is completely different.

His mysterious and powerful writing truly grips the reader and sends him/her off into a different world-- Murakami world, per se. This world makes the person think differently. I'll show you an example.

Here is an example of something that actually happened:

Grabbing the handrail for support, I stepped into the cable car and sat down on one of the seats inside. More and more tourists and locals filled the car as they sat down on the seats just like me. A series of undifferentiated chattering. I looked at some of the people. Most were talking, a few looked confused, and very few were sleeping. I continued to look around as I saw an elderly woman sitting next to me. Around her late 60's early 70's. I might be wrong. But she looked a bit old. She was your typical local residing in a mediocre neighborhood in San Francisco. She wasn't REALLY properly dressed. But I looked at her arm and saw an expensive looking diamond watch. This watch was an expensive one. A REAL expensive one. It's peculiar how this woman is able to own one of these watches. The only question is... IS it real, or fake? It looked real. THAT is the question.

Now here is an example of the Murakami-esque/Murakami World version:

I sat down as the woman next to me wore one of the most expensive looking watches in the world. Citizen. Diamonds adorned around the frame, stainless steel exterior, sterling hands. It shined the whole car, reflecting every spirit in the heavenly atmosphere that I could almost touch it and grab it out of my hand. I continued to ride the cable car that was enroute to the Wharf.

I got off the car and walked to Pier 39. I stayed there until the evening when the tides were the strongest. I looked up at the sky and saw the stars glimmering all over the dark, royal blue sky. I continued to stare up in the sky for so long that the stars were now inside me. The stars controlled me, and I controlled the stars. I then looked around the bay, Alcatraz coming into view and the Bay Bridge stiff. I felt something on my arm. I scratched it but it didn't go away. It must've been a fly. I slapped my arm but it still didn't go away. So I rolled up my sleeves and that same diamond watch was on my arm.

Youtube and You.

Yes, most of my Youtube subscribers are probably wondering why I haven't uploaded new videos. Please excuse my long hiatus. I'm quite lazy.

It takes time to think of an idea first. And in order to think of that ONE great idea, you have to really KNOW what that idea is. You can't just think of an idea right off the bat and start filming. You gotta plan it out, and write a proper script for it or else the video won't have much VALUE in it. Get it?

Right now, I can't even think of an idea. Which also means that I'm unable to know what the idea is because I have no good idea... Get it? Or am I confusing y'all?

After the idea comes the filming. Now, the filming requires patience. It's best not to only film once. Don't be lazy (unfortunately I am). If there is a flaw-- or even if its a very minor flaw-- in your scene, film the scene again. Just like my technology teacher told me, "people make mistakes", and it's best to go for perfection no matter how long it takes. That's why filming requires patience.

Now I can't go through all of that if I don't have an idea yet. Although the idea can be about anything, it still has to have a certain VALUE to the video. Meaning that it can't be totally pointless, like a man walking down the street for 15 minutes. If it has a certain value, then it should get exceptional views.

And again, I don't have an idea yet.
