4th of July Celebration

Happy 235th Birthday, America! How wonderful this day is to celebrate our troops, and our day of independence! I had a very fun time today with my mom's friends. We were lucky enough to grab a spot at a restaurant, 44&X, while watching the fireworks. Coincidentally, the mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg, was enjoying his meal at this same restaurant with his friends/assistants/family prior to the start of the fireworks. I couldn't get the best picture of him, but here he is.
今夜はアメリカの誕生日でした。母さんの友達とレストランに食べながら花火を見ました。きれいな花火だったな！そのときに、なんと、ニューヨークの市長が同じレストランに食べてたゃ！あんまりよくとれなかったが、これです。ちょっと左にいる人です。わかるかな？


Despite the fanciness of this restaurant, the food was a bit complicated to order. For instance, it wasn't only chicken, but chicken with creamy potatoes, seasoning, pepper, etc. I ordered the meat loaf turkey with creamy potatoes and mushrooms. I couldn't remember the exact name of it, but it was real good.
このレストランはとてもファンシーだったから食べ物がすごいわかりにくかった。たとえば、チキンだけじゃなく、クリーミーポテトときのことターキーとミートローフがのせてある。俺はメートローフを食いました。おいしい


Earlier in the day. Here is me in a picture with an interesting figure. It could either be a troll or some kind of human that slightly morphed into a 4-legged furry organism similar to a deer. LOL.
花火のちょっと前にこのわけがわかんないものと写真をとりました。人みてーけどそのうちなんかの動物にもみえる。何だろう。


As usual, a mass of people were around this area, enjoying the well expected fireworks extravaganza. These were the best shots I could get from the view at the restaurant.

After that was times square. I never really got to take pictures so here they are. And how can we ever forget Lou Gehrig's emotional speech that was held on July 4, 1939.
そのあとはTIMESSQUARE。さすがいっぱい人。
